Another kvetch here,
Nothing miffs me more than a crappy process devised by rich idiots who care little about your experience on the internet. Cisco is one of them. Trying to find drivers today for a WMP200 card has been WAY TOO MUCH WORK.
If the process takes longer than a minute, you have failed. If it times out after 4 attempts and I have to go the Microsoft site to find a proper link that neither Cisco nor Linksys could post, that is ultra-super fail. Here I thought the power of Cisco would be a huge move forward for Linksys. Not by the looks of it.
You really think I'm impressed that I have to create an account to DOWNLOAD DRIVERS?? How about now that I have to have a strong password, and even after you can respond lightnig quick to tell me I need a number in my password (it was a real postback, not client-side js) you can time-out creating the account? DO YOU HAVE SMURFS WORKING FOR CISCO?? No offense to smurfs.
I am a SOHO, and I deal with SMB's and have no need to Cisco's expensive gear. I have no need for the headache trying to find drivers for the small business products for Linksys. My time is money and I don't have a lot to burn. Whoever designed the websites for the offending parties obviously has never had to download drivers from it, or doesn't mind cuz he is paid by the hour.
Go to this page from Microsoft to find a real link to drivers or click here to go directly to the page. Thanks Microsoft, no thanks to Cisco.
UPDATE: The Microsoft link and the link on the Cisco page no longer work. Find the link to the drivers here.
Thumbs up to Cisco for removing the registration requirement on some hardware.
